Auditions
The School for ScandalYAT will next meet at the Peter and Paul Centre, Teddington from 7.30pm on Mon 22nd May 2023 where we will be holding an introduction evening for our Summer 2023 production, The School for Scandal.
After a 4 year hiatus, YAT are making a triumphant return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2023 with a abridged version of Sheridan's fast paced comedy, The School for Scandal. Big characters, big costumes and big wigs!
SYNOPSIS
18th Century London. Gossip is rife within London's fashionable society. Two brothers, the elder a smooth hypocrite and the younger a reckless but generous spendthrift are put to the test by their long last uncle as to who is the most virtuous. All the while battling with the vicious rumours and scandal brewing around them. Rumour and reputation play a large part in Sheridan’s meticulously crafted play, with gossip being a weapon that can be used against anyone and everyone. Who will be rewarded with happiness and love?
Please note you must be over 18 to travel to Edinburgh with YAT. You must also be able to cover costs including accommodation and travel to Edinburgh. This will be discussed further at the introduction evening.
