    The Trial

YAT will next meet at St Peter & St Paul's Church Hall, Teddington from 7.30pm on Monday 27th August 2018 where we will be holding a discussion and introduction evening for our Autumn 2018 production, The Trial.

"Someone must have been lying about Joseph K. For without having done anything wrong... He was arrested one fine morning."

When mild-mannered bank clerk Joseph K is arrested for an unknown crime, he finds himself drawn into a labyrinthine world of bureaucracy, manipulation, fear and paranoia. As his life unravels and his trial draws near, can he find something indestructible within himself to help him defend himself?

Steven Berkoff's adaptation of Franz Kafka's classic novel mixes mime, clowning and physical theatre, as the physicality of the actors creates the nightmarish world of the play. Using barely any set or props, this ensemble piece will be a very exciting physical challenge for YAT. (We'll need a great deal of passion and commitment but everybody is welcome, no matter their experience or physical ability!)

This will also hopefully be a great learning experience as we'll be doing a lot of physical workshops and studying plenty of clowning techniques in preparation.

The play itself is surreal, frightening, funny and moving and this production promises to be an unforgettable show.
