    The Diary of Anne Frank

YAT will next meet at St Peter & St Paul's Church Hall, Teddington from 7.30pm on Monday 30th August 2021 where we will be holding an introduction evening for our Autumn 2021 production, The Diary of Anne Frank.

    SYNOPSIS
Anne Frank's story told through her diaries has become a powerful symbol of how we remember and interpret one of the darkest periods in our history. The chaos of war and persecution is seen through the eyes of a young girl. A complex girl, a teenager who is falling in love and trying to understand herself. The pages are full of hope, her vibrant spirit and a record of her daily life living in constant secrecy hidden in an attic.

50 years after YAT first staged The Diary of Anne Frank we will revisit this human story of harrowing persecution. Incorporating music and song by composers killed in the Holocaust we will create an ensemble cast of 'Witnesses' to speak this truth of unspeakable pain and enduring hope.
