YAT - Eileen Baker
 |
Eileen has been associated with Youth Action Theatre since 1983 when her youngest daughter, Eleanor, joined the group to appear in Cabaret as one of the girls in the Kit Kat Club. Eleanor later went on to design the YAT production of Macbeth in 1989. During this time, Eileen became involved in the wardbrobe department and has shared responsibility for costuming every YAT production from 1986 until now.
Eileen and husband Den are both retired having brought up 5 daughters and now have 9 grandchildren. Having always been interested in the backstage aspects of theatre, Eileen thoroughly enjoys working in this field, particularly with the young people in YAT. Both Eileen and Den have accompanied the group on 4 foreign tours; 2 in Germany and 2 in the USA.
"I feel privileged to be accepted by the group as 'one of the crowd'. I enjoy their company and I'm interested in their activities. I feel very proud of the genuine hard work and enthusiasm they put into each production - whatever part or role they are playing. It's a bit like having an extended family!".
